Un nuovo appuntamento con gli articoli in lingua inglese a cura di Eleanor Ann Peterson, traduttrice madrelingua e scrittrice, questa volta sulle fiere di novembre nella città di Canelli.
The month of November in Canelli promises to be packed with fairs after an October that saw the great success of Canelli Città del Vino. Two major events will be organized, the St. Martin’s Fair and the Regional Truffle Fair, on two different dates to give greater importance to the peculiarities of each event.
On November 13, the traditional St. Martin’s Fair is confirmed, an ancient event that was already mentioned in Canelli’s Medieval Statutes. The fair will be attended by more than one hundred stalls that will take place in the Old Town from the crack of dawn, offering all kinds of goods.
On November 27, on the other hand, it will be the turn of the Regional Truffle Fair of Canelli, one of the most important foods and wine events of Lower Piedmont, with many stalls of representative products of the territory, the Fair enhances the white truffle, Tuber Magnatum Pico, whose characteristics have been known and appreciated for centuries. During the Regional Truffle Fair, activities will be organized to enhance, even more, the local tourist heritage, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, offering events to attract the public and tourists. There will be spaces for selling and displaying mushrooms and truffles to promote the event’s protagonist. At the same time, the Regional Wineshop will host the white truffle market exhibition in collaboration with the Trifulau Association of Canelli; truffle hunters, traders, and restaurateurs will be able to participate in the competition. Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each category, and traditional activities will be complemented by gastronomic offerings, musical entertainment, and cultural activities.
